📚 Introducing the DEAR Program at Parkview!

We are excited to announce the start of our DEAR Program (Drop Everything And Read) at Parkview Elementary!

✨ What is DEAR?
DEAR stands for Drop Everything And Read. Each morning, our students will begin their day by setting aside time to read. This program encourages a love of reading, builds focus, and sets a positive tone for learning throughout the day.

🕗 When does it happen?

-Every school day

-Starts at 8:10 in the morning

👩‍🏫 How does it work?

-All students and staff participate by reading at the same time.

-Students may bring their own books from home or choose one at school.

-Everyone stops what they are doing and reads quietly together.

🌟 Why DEAR?

-Develops strong reading habits.

-Improves literacy and comprehension skills.

-Promotes focus, calmness, and a love of learning.

-Builds a school-wide reading culture!

✅ With DEAR, we are creating a community of readers who start every day with success!

Morning Drop-Off Reminders

We want mornings at Parkview to be safe, smooth, and stress-free for everyone. Please take a moment to review our drop-off guidelines so we can keep all students safe and traffic flowing easily.

🚗 Parking & Walking Your Child In
• If you plan to walk your child to the front door or inside the school, you must park in a marked parking spot.
• Do not leave your car unattended in the drop-off lane.
• Always use the crosswalk at the front entrance. Please don’t cut across the parking lot, especially near the Pre-K entrance.
• Pre-K Parents: You may park in the softball field parking lot (east of the Pre-K center). Do not block the exit.

🚙 Dropping Off Students
• Pull forward as far as possible when dropping off your child. This helps keep traffic moving.
• We have a long drop-off zone—please use the full area, not just the front section.

🛑 Drop-Off Lanes
• There are two drop-off lanes:
• Inside lane: For Pre-K drop-offs (same as pick-up).
• Outside lane (left of the median): For all other students.

✅ Thank you for helping us keep drop-off safe and efficient for all families!
