🧬Mrs. Jennifer Young’s 7th grade science students have been diving into the world of plant and animal cells and learning about the organelles that make each cell function!
Working with partners, students researched an assigned organelle, created a slideshow to share what they learned, and put their knowledge to the test with an edible 3D plant cell project. Before Fall Break, students brought their plant cells to life by creating, placing, and labeling the organelles in their edible models.

🚴♂️ Mrs. Pearman’s Gifted and Talented students took learning to the BMX track for an exciting field trip! Students had the opportunity to meet Dravin Groove, professional freestyle BMX rider who shared more about the sport. The students explored science, technology, engineering, and math without even realizing how much they were learning!

💙🍎 Mrs. Sheila Moore’s T-1 classroom has been cooking up some fun with Kid Chef Friday, a monthly activity her students absolutely love!
So far, these little chefs have made apple slices with sunflower butter dip and lettuce chips with dip! They loved wearing their chef hats and aprons to practice their slicing skills! They are learning and having a little fun along the way.

The parade lineup will begin at 1:30pm in front of the Memorial Gym (East of Jack Poskey Football Field)
Homecoming Coronation: 6:20pm @ Jack Poskey Field
If you would like to be added to the Parade line-up, please contact the HS Principal, Mrs. Lesa Elerick.
To ensure a fun and safe event for everyone, please review the Parade Safety Precautions:
- Drive with passengers and pedestrians in mind.
- Student drivers are not permitted unless cleared through the office. All vehicles must have a licensed driver.
- Riders should remain on floats while they are moving. No jumping on or off.
- Walkers should stay at least 15 feet away from moving vehicles (or more if needed for safety).
- Drivers, please stay alert and maintain slow speeds during the parade and while returning to campus.
- Objects (candy or otherwise) should not be thrown from floats or vehicles.
- Water balloons, shaving cream, etc. are not allowed.
- Above all, please use your best judgment so the parade is a safe, enjoyable event for all.
