Students from the Stroud High School Alternative Academy enjoyed an inspiring day at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, exploring a variety of artistic styles and mediums, including abstract art, portraits, glassblowing, and landscapes. After touring the museum and viewing the incredible artwork, students had the opportunity to become artists themselves. With guidance from a professional artist, they created their own landscape paintings using watercolor, putting their creativity and newfound inspiration into practice. It was a hands on experience that encouraged students to explore art, express themselves, and see the possibilities of their own creativity.

✈️ Mrs. Chace's Aviation I students put their engineering and problem solving skills to the test with a hands on aerospace design challenge!
Working in teams, students designed and tested drag devices to slow a spacecraft’s descent while protecting its cargo. Using the engineering and design process inspired by Leonardo da Vinci, they collected trial data, compared different designs, and evaluated their results.
Students tested their designs from the Tiger Pit, a drop height of 17 feet, 8.5 inches, with cargo weights ranging from 2.5 to 42.5 grams. Their goal was to determine which design achieved the greatest weight to speed ratio while completing the challenge!

❤️SHS FCCLA members attended the AIM Conference this week where they built leadership skills, teamwork, and networking through a variety of interactive workshops!
